Happy Birthday to Cade

Here are the top ten things I have learned about and from Cade in his second year of life....

10. Anything is edible.

9. A kid can disappear in 10 seconds...and be lost for 10 minutes.

8. It is a good idea to learn the Heimlich maneuver because you will use it. A lot.

7. Forget about avoiding embarrassing moments. As per #8, your child may choke on a fruit roll up at the grocery store (because they tried to eat the paper too) drool everywhere, receive the Heimlich, and then throw up the rest of the paper and fruit roll up onto himself and you. All while trying to decide what kind of meat is on sale.

6. You might think you're patient.... but you're SO not.

5. You can be shocked by an outlet several times without severe damage. Or at least no immediate damage.

4. Trains are cool. Cars are cool. Airplanes are cool. Bugs are cool. Smashing bugs with your fingers is cool. And eating dog food is definitely cool.

3. We only have ONE kid? Seriously? Wow. I'm exhausted.

2. Big blue eyes make me melt.

1. There is nothing like a kiss and a hug from a slobbery runny-nosed boy with sticky hands.
